Haverhill Firefighters strive to improve the safety of and protect all who live, work-in and visit our city through fire prevention, public education, and emergency response. The Haverhill Fire Department provides many services beyond firefighting, including building inspections, code enforcement, building plan review, fire investigations, student and elder fire education, water and ice rescue, motor vehicle extrication, hazardous materials response and one of our primary duties, providing first response emergency medical care. We work hand in hand with Trinity EMS on all medical calls and are constantly training to keep up our skills.
We provide these services to over 65,000 residents, workers, and visitors spread over more than 34 square miles. We respond to emergencies 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We consider it an honor to serve the public and work hard to be prepared to best assist our community when the need arises.
We are a full time fire department, protecting a rapidly expanding city with 4 full-time stations and 2 volunteer stations, with a total of 19 firefighters full-time firefighters assigned to fire suppression at any given time.
